About President

Dr. S.K. Malhotra, has worked as Agriculture Commissioner with additional responsibilities of Horticulture Commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, New Delhi and was ADG (Horticulture Science) with ICAR for about 2 years. Currently, he is providing leadership in agriculture/ horticulture policy planning, program development, coordination, monitoring and execution of R & D activities. As a Chairman or member of many high powered committees, both at national and international level, he has been guiding and providing professional solutions to the emerging challenges. He has published over 240 research papers, book chapters, books and manuals/ bulletins to his credit. His outstanding contribution in horticulture has earned him 9 awards and 6 fellowships. He is a widely travelled and represented India in 12 international programs at USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Israel, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand and Philippines. His contribution as an administrator are many for the promotion of floriculture and landscaping particularly protected cultivation, micro-propagation, precision farming technologies and cold chain development. Indian Society of Ornamental Horticulture feels proud to have him as President of this society.
